Boyikos de Pimienta (Pepper Cookies)
"Tooth Breakers". Spicy and sweet cookies with a unique twist
Ingredients:
65g oil
65g melted butter
120g sugar
65g water
1 heaping tsp black pepper
Flour (as needed)
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)
In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, melted butter, water, sugar, and black pepper
Gradually add flour to the mixture, stirring continuously until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to add too much flour; the dough should remain soft and pliable, not hard or dry
Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Bake in the preheated oven until the cookies are golden brown, about 12-15 minutes
Let the cookies cool completely before serving
Notes:
The black pepper adds a unique spicy flavor. Adjust the amount to taste
For a dairy-free variation, use double the oil and omit the butter
